Emily and her husband, Dr. Bryan Harnsberger co-founded Wellesley Counseling and Wellness in 2021.

Emily has been in practice since 2016 working with adolescents and adults. Through an integrative therapeutic approach focused on mind, body, and spirit, Emily incorporates elements of Psychodynamics, Internal Family Systems, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, Exposure and Response Prevention, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Expressive Arts Therapy.

Emily is person-centered and strength-based in her approach and has a wide variety of interests including anxiety, OCD, depression, trauma, life transitions, and behavioral patterns that hold people back from experiencing a meaningful and fulfilling life.

Emily fosters a warm and non-judgmental environment that facilitates a collaborative journey towards both acceptance and change. She believes the heart of counseling is in the therapeutic relationship, and uses this as a tool towards therapeutic healing. She has witnessed this work reintegrate wounded or conflicting parts into a more harmonious version of self. She always makes sure there is space for joy, humor, and creativity in the process. Remembering who you are is possible.

In her free time, you can find Emily watching historical fiction, watercolor painting, playing the drums with her son, or devouring fantasy novels.
